About Me
My name is Steve Lawrence. Don Valentine personally hired me in March of 2016. At that time, John Moore had recently undergone a new web design by an outside "SEO firm" who had omitted hundreds of post URLs. As a result of this and other miscues, the company's online visibility had all but vanished. No manual actions had been imposed on John Moore Services, but ranking for any meaningful keywords had been eliminated. Though the "Google My Business" profile was still present, and their 72 reviews with a 3.2-starĀ rating were intact, nothing else was.
I began the project by quickly replacing the website that the "SEO firm" had built for them. It was poorly designed, thin on content, and used stock images to portray our company. This took roughly 3 weeks to launch the site. Although not what we ultimately ended up with, it facilitated the results we were initially looking for.
After a few more long and very hard-fought weeks and months, we began to see some progress. John Moore was beginning to rank once again on page 1 for the keywords we were aiming for. Once this had been established, I met with Pawan Jaggi, the Founder of PulseM, to begin a full-on campaign to increase reviews. At that time, we were hovering around 70-80. Today, the current total is approaching 19K in total, thanks to the work of Service Titan's integration with PulseM.
Fast forward to the present, the industry is now facing new challenges with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on search. What was once a SERP of beautiful blue links has now become an abstruse ocean of algorithms. The speed at which things are changing has created a knowledge vacuum that few in web marketing have been able to fill. However, I am happy to say that this is changing rapidly. And we are at the point of the spear.
In closing, I have had the pleasure of working alongside some fantastic people. Aside from some content development work in the earlier years, I have been the sole arbiter of John Moore's website content and SEO performance. All success can be attributed to the support of my team, Peter Gentempo, and Rob Dobson. For any perceived failures, I will take ownership, as everything has ultimately been my responsibility.
